Outardes-2 is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station and dam on the Outardes River 15 km (9.3 mi) southwest of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada. The power station was commissioned in 1978.
Outardes-2 Hydroelectric Plant was built in conjunction with the Manicouagan-Outardes project and is located at the mouth of the Outardes River by Noye Bay. Just west of the power station was another that had been owned and operated by the Quebec North Shore Paper Company since 1937. Instead of raising the reservoir as initially envisioned, Outardes-2 was constructed to better exploit the river flow.| Outardes-2 generating station | |

Carillon Generating Station

The Carillon Generating Station is a run of the river hydroelectric power station on the Ottawa River near Carillon, Quebec, Canada. Built between 1959 and 1964, it is managed and operated by Hydro-Québec. It is a run-of-river generating station with an installed capacity of 752 MW, a head of 17.99 meters (59.0 ft), and a reservoir of 26 square kilometers (10 sq mi).[1] The dam spans the river between Carillon and Pointe-Fortune, Ontario.
Upon completion, the dam raised the water level by over 62 feet (19 m) at Carillon and over 9 feet (2.7 m) at Grenville. This inundated the rapids of Long-Sault, transforming them into calm (deeper) water. Bersimis 2 Generating Station

The Bersimis-2 generating station is a dam and a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station built by Hydro-Québec on the Betsiamites River, in Lac-au-Brochet, 66 km (41 mi) north of the town of Forestville, Quebec. Construction started in 1956 and the power station was commissioned in 1959 with an initial nameplate capacity of 655 megawatts.
It is the second of two plants built by Hydro-Québec on the Betsiamites. Bersimis-2 was preceded by Bersimis-1, built 30 km (20 mi) upstream between 1953 and 1956. With upgrades and further river diversions, Bersimis-2's installed capacity has been increased over time to its current capacity of 869 megawatts.The Betsiamites River, also known as the Bersimis, is located halfway between the Saguenay and Outardes rivers, on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River, 300 km (190 mi) downstream from Quebec City. With the exception of an Innu reserve at Betsiamites, at the mouth of the river, the area is scarcely populated.
The word Betsiamites or Pessamit is from the innu language and means "the assembly place of the lampreys". Bersimis was not used by either the Innus, the French or the French Canadians, but was introduced by British admiral Henry Wolsey Bayfield, in his hydrographic surveys of the Saint Lawrence River of 1837. The Hudson's Bay Company used the name when opened a trading post in 1855, as did the post office in 1863. After 2 decades of efforts, residents and the Quebec government convinced the federal government to start using Betsiamites in 1919. But administrative use of Bersimis perdured for decades and Hydro-Québec used it in the 1950s to name its facility in the area.
Located in the Central Laurentians ecoregion of the Boreal Shield Ecozone, the hinterland is heavily forested and dominated by softwood species: black spruce (Picea mariana), balsam fir (Abies balsamea) and white spruce (Picea glauca). In 1937, the Quebec government granted a forest concession to the Anglo Canadian Pulp & Paper Co. to supply its Forestville mill, on the coast. Outardes-3 Hydroelectric Plant is a run of the river hydroelectric power station and dam on the Outardes River 55 km (34.2 mi) northwest of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada. The power station was commissioned in 1969 and is run-of-the-river.
Outardes-3 was built in conjunction with the Manicouagan-Outardes project and is located 13 mi (20.9 km) downstream of Outardes-4. Only a 250 ft (76.2 m) high concrete dam was needed to exploit 478 ft (145.7 m) of hydraulic head as the dam raised up water into the existing Lake Tirebouchon. Raising the water in the lake allowed it to rise east near the actual power station 4.5 mi (7.2 km) downstream. Near the eastern portion of the lake, two depressions were filled in with small dikes to withhold the higher lake level, one of which supports a concrete spillway. From the intake on the northern portion of the concrete dam, water is fed via four 750 ft (228.6 m) penstocks towards the underground power station. Water being discharged from the power station enters a 1,488 ft (453.5 m) long and 73 ft (22.3 m) high tunnel before being returned to the river.| Outardes-3 | |

The Jean-Lesage hydroelectric plant or Manic-2, is a run of the river hydroelectric power plant located 22 km from Baie-Comeau built on Manicouagan River in Quebec, Canada. It was constructed between 1961 and 1967. On June 22, 2010, the dam and the generating station were renamed to honor former Quebec premier Jean Lesage, who was premier of Quebec during the construction of the complex.
Jean-Lesage is a gravity dam "hollow type" with a spillway made of concrete. The reservoir starts at the base of Manic-3. The dam is considered run-of-the-river and is fitted with eight Francis turbines, with a total capacity of 1145 megawatts.
Construction of Jean-Lesage hydroelectric plant started on October 24 1961. From June 2 to December 8 1962, diversion tunnels were driven through the mountain to divert the river's flow around the construction site. The cofferdam that forced the to water use the diversion tunnels was completed on July 30 1963, construction of the dam started the day after. By autumn 1965, the dam and powerhouse were sufficiently complete to put the first group of five turbines into service, the others were put in service at the end of construction. Commissioning was completed in 1967.
It is possible to visit the complex during summer between the end of June and start of September. The 90 minutes visit consists of a guided tour by Hydro-Quebec which lets the visitor enter cavities of the dam and see a turbine in action within the powerhouse.

La Grande-1 Hydroelectric Plant

The La Grande-1 hydroelectric plant is a run of the river hydroelectric power plant on the La Grande River that is part of Hydro-Québec's James Bay Project. The station can generate 1,436 MW and was commissioned in 1994–1995. A "run of the river" generating station, it is one of only two generating stations of the James Bay Project that use a reservoir without any major water-level fluctuations (the Laforge-2 generating station is the other). Thus, the amount of electricity generated by the station depends almost entirely on the water-flow of the river, which is largely controlled by upstream reservoirs and generating stations.

The Beauharnois Hydroelectric Power Plant is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plant along the Saint Lawrence Seaway on the Saint Lawrence River, in Quebec, Canada. The station was built in three phases, and comprises 38 turbines, capable of generating up to 1,903 MW of electrical power. Constructions on the facility began in 1930 and was completed in 1961.
